About Us

  The fundamental physics team in National Chiao Tung University is responsible to the physical courses for first-year students, the experimental courses of the fundamental physics, the innovative physical experiments and the demonstrative experiments in school, supporting related activities in physics, such as scientific visiting, realistic manipulations and camping, not limited to intramural teachers and students. The team is formed by academic individual and administrative staff of Electrophysics Department. Currently, the faculty includes physical educators in Department of Electrophysics and Institute of Physics.
  The official site of Chiao Tung physics education not only provides general courses, related information and learning resources but also supplies the multi-media of experimental demonstrations and activity updating. We expect to achieve combination of educational work field and digital resources for their advantages and complements to increase the interaction and learning effect. We also start to constitute the social platforms to promote to communicate with each other and update our modern status for everybody.

First Edition (Republic of China era 85)

Under K. H. Wu’s, W. I. Lee’s and M. X. Guo’s guidance and supervision, the whole revision work was conducted by S. B. Wu assistant. The first draft was examined in experiment by D. C. Yuan, C. L. Chung, G. T. Lee and D. M. Huang assistants and modified by instructors after that the manuscript was completed and published.

Second Edition (Republic of China era 89)

Under C. S. Chu’s, M. X. Guo’s, S. H. Lin’s and S. Y. Hsu’s guidance and supervision, C. Y. Yang, P. Y. Cheng and Y. X. Ding assistants continued to cross-examine and renew the experimental instruments simultaneously for seventeen experimental contents.

Third Edition (Republic of China era 90)

Under C. S. Chu’s, S. H. Lin’s and M. X. Guo’s guidance and supervision, B. Y. Huang, J. H. Au and Y. X. Ding assistants examined and discussed the experimental contents in semester,89 which were revised substantially according to practical circumstances. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 90.

Fourth Edition (Republic of China era 91)

Under S. Y. Hsu’s guidance and supervision, Z. T. You, H. Q. Wang, S. Y. Xiao and W. B. Huang assistants examined and discussed to revise arrangement in the part of experimental contents. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 91.

Fifth Edition (Republic of China era 92)

Under S. Y. Hsu’s guidance and supervision, Z. T. You, S. Y. Xiao and W. B. Huang assistants examined and discussed to revise the experimental contents which were expanded by the item of wave experiment. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 92.

Sixth Edition (Republic of China era 93)

Under S. Y. Hsu’s guidance and supervision, J. K. Wen, B. Y. Chang and L. J. Liu assistants examined and discussed to revise the experimental contents which were deleted by the item of viscosity coefficient experiment and expanded by the item of microwave experiment. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 93.

Seventh Edition (Republic of China era 94)

Under S. Y. Hsu’s and W. C. Chou’s guidance and supervision, B. Y. Chang, Y. L. Liao and L. X. Jian assistants examined and discussed to revise arrangement in the part of experimental contents which were expanded by some conceptual points that were worth for us to talk over. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 94.

Eighth Edition (Republic of China era 95)

Under W. C. Chou’s guidance and supervision, Z. X. Lin, Y. L. Liao and L. X. Jian assistants examined and discussed to revise arrangement in the part of experimental contents. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 95.

Ninth Edition (Republic of China era 96)

Under W. C. Chou’s guidance and supervision, Y. T. Huang and Z. B. Chang assistants examined and discussed to revise parts of experimental contents and some exercise problems. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 96.

Tenth Edition (Republic of China era 97)

Under W. B. Jian’s guidance and supervision, Z. B. Chang, S. R. Huang and X. W. Wu assistants examined and discussed to revise parts of experimental contents and some exercise problems. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 97.

Eleventh Edition (Republic of China era 98)

Under W. B. Jian’s and Z. K. Chi’s guidance and supervision, X. W. Wu, Z. J. Chen and J. X. Luo assistants examined and discussed to revise the contents of experimental handout which were expanded by the instrumental spherometer in the item of basic measurement experiment. At the same time, they referred to the data which was provided by the manufacturer to renew the heat conduction experimental instruments and compile its contents. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 98.

Twelfth Edition (Republic of China era 99)

Under W. B. Jian’s and Z. K. Chi’s guidance and supervsion, Y. Y. Huang, C. Y. Kao assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise the contents of experimental handout. At the same time, they changed Newton’s second law of motion, ratio of specific heats of a gas and heat conduction experiments into digitally experimental instruments to carry on the experiment, and then revised the contents of handout. The revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 99.

Thirteenth Edition (Republic of China era 100)

Under W. H. Chang’s and Z. K. Chi’s guidance and supervision, Y. Y. Huang, C. Y. Kao assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise the contents of experimental handout. They changed centripetal force and Millikan’s oil droplet experiments into digitally experimental instruments to carry on the experiment, and then revised the contents of handout. Besides, Newton’s second law of motion and basic measurement experimental instruments were also renewed. The revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 100.

Fourteenth Edition (Republic of China era 101)

Under W. H. Chang’s and Z. K. Chi’s guidance and supervision, Y. Y. Huang, C. Y. Kao assistants, Mr. S. L. Tsao, Studs. Y. H. Xie, M. Y. Huang, Y. J. Huang, Y. Chuang, Y. J. Chen, W. Z. Lin, Z. J. Lai, Y. R. Chu and Z. S. Xie examined and discussed to revise the contents of experimental handout. They deleted heat conduction experiment and led-in digitally ideal gas and absolute zero experiments. At the same time, the contents of microwave experiment were revised substantially. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 101.

Fifteenth Edition (Republic of China era 102)

Under W. H. Chang’s and Z. K. Chi’s guidance and supervision, C. Y. Kao, C. Y. Chiang assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise the contents of experimental handout substantially. They deleted Newton’s second law of motion experiment and purchased digitally experimental equipments of one dimension of motion (including Atwood machine simulation experiment, Newton’s law of motion and collision experiments), according to the data to edit the experimental handout and lead-in relevant course simultaneously. Subsequently, the experimental contents of ideal gas, absolute zero and Millikan’s oil droplet were revised substantially. The revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 102.

Sixteenth Edition (Republic of China era 103)

Under C. W. Luo’s guidance and supervision, C. Y. Kao, C. Y. Chiang assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise the contents of experimental handout substantially. They purchased fundamental optical instruments for students experiencing and learning to setup the light path on Michelson interferometer experiment in person. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 103.

Seventeenth Edition (Republic of China era 104)

Under C. W. Luo’s guidance and supervision, C. Y. Kao, C. Y. Chiang assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise and renew the part of experimental contents. They emphasized on Michelson interferometer experiment to carry on improving and edited the experimental handout. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 104.

Eighteenth Edition (Republic of China era 105)

Under C. W. Luo’s and K. W. Su’s guidance and supervision, C. Y. Kao, C. Y. Chiang assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise and renew the part of experimental contents. However, the experimental contents of compound pendulum and Michelson interferometer 2-refractive index measurement were revised substantially. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 105.

Nineteenth Edition (Republic of China era 106)

Under  K. W. Su’s guidance and supervision, C. Y. Kao, C. Y. Chiang assistants and Mr. S. L. Tsao examined and discussed to revise and renew the part of experimental contents. Then, the revision was served as the experimental teaching material in semester 106.


This experimental handout has been striven to achieve maturity but there still are some omissions under the limited scheduling.
